Bill Moore is an accomplished senior executive and environmental expert with more than 40 years of experience across the chemical, solid waste management, recycling, paper, packaging, and related manufacturing sectors.
Leveraging extensive experience as an environmental business professional and pioneer in the paper recycling industry, Bill provides valuable insight for companies in need of guidance on strategy due to changes in commodity pricing, markets, and technology; facing environmental issues; or interested in sustainable business practices. His areas of expertise include leadership, start-ups, generating growth, sales and marketing, market analysis, market trends, price forecasting, operations, regulatory affairs, global business, and environmental issues. Bill graduated from the Stevens Institute of Technology in NJ in Chemical Engineering.
Eugene (Gene) Jones, Executive Director, Southern Waste Information Exchange, Inc. (SWIX)
Gene Jones serves as Executive Director of the Southern Waste Information Exchange (SWIX), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which has been operating since 1981 assisting businesses and municipalities with their waste management and remediation issues.
With over 40 years of experience, Gene specializes in building strategic relationships with waste and remediation firms. He brings a vast knowledge of various environmental sectors from organizing and managing conferences such as;
• the PFAS Forum,
• the Agricultural Plastics Recycling Conference & Trade Show,
• the Waste Conversion Technology Conference & Trade Show,
• the Southeast Recycling Conference & Trade Show,
• the New Life for Closed Gas Stations Conference and Exhibition,

Gene is a Martial Arts practitioner and has his 8th degree black belt in Shaolin GoJu and a 5th degree black belt in Nisei GoJu. Gene is also the Author of Instant Self-Esteem: Empowering Self-Confidence and The Mindful Sensei.
Gene is also the inventor of the Soap Bag Saver, which he designed for the reuse of leftover soap bars.
Nancy Womack, Director of Account and Sales Representatives Development, Greif
This year, Nancy Womack celebrates thirty years in the Recycling Industry. In Nancy’s current position as Director of Account and Representative Development with Greif, she manages the productivity of 13 Sales Associates. Prior to working in the private sector, Nancy assisted local municipalities in beginning and managing their curbside recycling programs. Nancy worked with local personnel to build and manage recycling collection centers and spent 10 years in this capacity through local Keep America Beautiful Affiliates in the cities of Macon, GA; Roswell, GA and Fulton County, GA. Nancy has served in the following volunteer capacities:

Dr. Christopher M. Teaf, Ph.D., Director Emeritus, Institute of Science and Public Affairs, Florida State University
Dr. Teof is o Boord-certified toxicologist ond risk assessor with over 40 years of environmental ond
public health experience specializing in soil. water and air quality, toxicology, risk assessment. and
environmental health issues for solvents, petroleum, pesticides, polyfluorinoted compounds
(PFAs), metals, radionuclides, particulates, and bacteria/molds. Chris Is Director Emeritus of the
Center for Biomedical & Toxicological Research at Florido State University, and Director of
Toxicology for Hazardous Substance & Waste Management Research in Tallahassee. He hos
experience with industrial facilities, waste management sites, power facilities, agricultural sites.
mining operations. educational institutions. and products in general commerce. He hos directed
research and taught environmental toxicology and risk assessment at the University level. for
USEPA, the World Health Organization, NATO, ATSDR, many state/local agencies, and the private
sector. He serves as co-Editor-in-Chief of Soil ond Sediment Contominotion and sits on editorial
boards or as peer reviewer for a variety of scientific journals. Chris hos testified in many state
and federal courts. as well os state administrative hearings.
DJ VanDeusen, Harris Equipment /Recycling & Waste Equipment
DJ VanDeusen is currently the President and General Manager of Harris Equipment and has served in that role since January 2021. DJ has been part of the waste and recycling industry for 10 years including 3 years as the Senior Vice President of Recycling at WestRock. His career also includes 20 years with General Electric garnering executive leadership experience in operations, business development, mergers & acquisitions, and finance.
DJ earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Siena College and is a graduate of the General Electric Financial Management Program.
Joseph P. Curro, PE, BCEE, Principal and Senior Solid Waste Engineer, CDM Smith
Mr. Curro is a principal engineer with CDM Smith in Boston, Massachusetts. He has more than 50 years of experience in solid waste projects. He has served as the lead design engineer for numerous recycling, mechanical waste processing, landfill, incineration and waste reclamation systems. He has developed and implemented a number of innovative systems for recyclables processing and materials recovery.
Karen Moore, Environmental Administrator, Division of Waste Management , Florida Department of Environmental Protection
Karen Moore is currently the Environmental Administrator for the Waste Reduction (Recycling) and Waste Registration Section for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. With 20 years of environmental experience, Karen previously worked as the recycling coordinator in North Carolina and the Department’s Recycling Program, as well as, the successful Florida Green Lodging Program prior to her working as an engineer for the Petroleum Restoration Program.
