Trending Upward: Opportunities in Collection & Sortation of Poly Coated Paper

The Poly Coated Paper Alliance (PCPA) launched in 2023 with the defined goal of collaborating toward widespread end-market acceptance for poly coated paper materials. Since the launch, the PCPA collaborated to finalize material definitions and coating types to be studied, conducted end market outreach, and gathered the data needed to move poly coated paper toward increased end market acceptance and becoming widely recycled. In the Summer of 2024, the PCPA put the data to the test in the field. This panel will discuss the findings from the PCPA sorts, RFID testing, bale audits, and more that will help lead the way toward North American industry design guidance and greater end market acceptance for the high-quality fiber derived from Poly Coated Paper.
