NuCycle Energy: Innovation in Landfill Abatement and Fossil Fuel Replacement
Mark Barasch, CEO, NuCycle Energy
NuCycle Energy operates a Florida based Sustainability Initiative that manufactures an alternative energy fuel product, while also providing a landfill-free materials management program to many of America’s largest commercial brands and institutions. Through our proprietary process, we manufacture this alternative fuel from pre-consumer materials that were previously treated as waste, and otherwise destined for the landfill. Known as Enviro-FuelcubesÒ, this highly-engineered energy-dense fuel, which carries a Non-waste determination from the US EPA, is capable of replacing traditional fossil fuels in energy intensive industries, such as cement manufacturing and electrical power generation. Put simply, the NuCycle process simultaneously provides a zero-landfill solution for commercial and industrial materials, while reducing the use of fossil fuels in industrial applications.
Mark Barasch is the President and CEO of NuCycle Energy Holdings LLC, an alternative fuels manufacturer that utilizes only materials that would otherwise have been destined for a landfill in the production of this cleaner and greener fuel. NuCycle currently operates its Sustainability Initiative out its flagship manufacturing plant just outside of Tampa, FL, with plans to build five additional plants in the near future.
In addition to his role as NuCycle’s CEO, Barasch also serves as the Managing Director of Gemini Capital LLC, where he helps oversee Gemini’s position within its current portfolio. Gemini is also one of the two lead investors in NuCycle’s sustainability initiative.
Prior to joining NuCycle and Gemini Capital, Barasch spent the preceding thirty years as a business owner in New York City, serving and consulting for the world’s largest technology,
media and advertising firms (Lucent, Apple, SONY, Abbot Labs, Sirius XM, HBO, ABC,
Disney, Turner Broadcasting, McCann Erickson and J. Walter Thompson among others).
Barasch also sits on the Advisory Board of the International Council for Caring Communities, a 501(c)3 with Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. In that role, Barasch has had the privilege to produce and manage several economic and environmental events at United Nations Headquarters in NYC.
