The purpose of the presentation would be to educate attendees about the dangers of lithium batteries entering the lead battery waste streams as well as proper identification and handling/recycling of lithium and other non-lead batteries that appear at HHW facilities and scrap yards around the country.
Tod Lyons is the Communications and Sustainability Manager for Interstate Batteries Recycling in Dallas, TX. He serves on a number of national and international committees seeking to educate people about the proper handling and recycling of all types of scrap batteries. He served 20 years in the US Coast Guard specializing in crisis communications and environmental response for major oil spills and chemical spills across the western hemisphere.
